HEART OF WORSHIP.

When the music fades
and all has slipped away
and I simply come.
Longing just to bring
something thats of worth
that will bless Your heart.

I'll bring You more than a song,
for a song in itself
is not what You have required.
You search much deeper within,
through the way things appear,
Your looking into my heart.

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
and its all about You, its all about You, Jesus.
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
when its all about You, its all about You, Jesus.

King of endless worth,
no one could express
how much you deserve.
Though I'm weak and poor,
all I have is Yours,
every single breath!

I'll bring You more than a song,
for a song in itself
is not what You have required.
You search much deeper within,
through the way things appear,
Your looking into my heart.

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
and its all about You, its all about You, Jesus.
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
when its all about You, its all about You, Jesus.

MATT REDMAN .

I feel as though I am baring my soul with this song. I don't know what Matt Redman felt when he wrote it, but it sums up so very, very much of what I feel. Let's get to the core of what we are about as Christians. Is it about our denominations, our styles of church services, our liturgy or keeping up appearances etc.?? Or is our primary aim to worship the only person worthy of all our worship and indeed our whole life. The Lord Jesus Christ ???

Now I do confess to admitting before that I am a passionate person and so to any who have travelled on my blog with me it will come as no surprise that I admit that I have come to a place and a stage of life where I am done with messing about on the perifery of Christianity. I want the " real thing. " I have found that to be the Lord Jesus. So here's my challenge today for you dear readers in blogland. What is the " real thing " for you ? Is it a form of religion or is it Jesus ??? I pray, with my whole heart, that you can say without a second thought, that it is the Lord Jesus .

Ooooo Blue-gail...You're on it.I believe that as we grow in Him and get a real touch of what it means to really be in relationship and fellowship and ONENESS that the act, the show, and all the "religious" routine that we go thru becomes obsolete. When you stand at that place and look back, you can have a sense of distaste, but I often look at it as, it served its purpose for that time. Meaning, while I was in it, i was growing, to a point where I know its for real..and I wanna go deeper, and pursue what He's got for me, (as well as grow closer and do the things that please HIm: worship, obedience, etc.)

Congrats on that moment of realization...and may His presence flood your life in a whole new way.

    AMEN

Oh this is so very much one of my favourites!! And it is so often my prayer too - that be all about Jesus. Nothing else will do, and nothing else matters. I want my life, my heart and soul to be all about Jesus.

I have been meaning to tell you that when I went to a wedding a couple weeks ago, I found a CD lying around in the glovebox of my car - Chris Tomlin. Just so happens I do have one of his CD's... Then at the wedding, we sang a song that I had learnt from that CD "How Great Is Our God".
Thanks for sharing about your heart of worship. It is important for us to be real about who we are in Christ.

Hi Gail, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving the message. Not sure how I came across your blog, probably searching Matt Redman.
A didgeridoo in your family room, that's very cool. Those are hard to come by around here. I heard one played at a Kevin Prosch concert. It had an incredible sound. I love to hear different cultures expressing their love and worship to Jesus in their own unique way. That's what I appreciated about Kevin, he would incorporated those sounds into his music. Freaked some out, but I thought it was cool.
In less than a week, I will be traveling from the U.S.A to the Amazon region of Brazil, to the rainforest. One of the things I'm looking forward to is worshiping with these small little river villages. Primitive and sweet, but very powerful.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by, I'll be posting again before I leave and I'll post a lot about it when I get back. God bless you and yours.

    David

    Hi Gail,

Great post! I, too, have been feeling encumbered by all the "trappings" of Christianity--all those things that keep our focus off of what is really important, Jesus Christ.

I am desperate for Him, and my desire is that He would give me a hunger for more of Him, His word, and His face.

    Love,
    Jen

Wow! what a blessing and such uplifting moment, Gail. The whole of last week I was not able to log into the blog site and it was only now when i was able to read your post and the confirmation I received. The only word that was coming from my heart and mouth was these words "It is all about YOU LORD, it is all about YOU LORD!" That was my cry to Him as I seek HIm for my church the whole of last week until last night. Thanks my dear sister.

Blue, this is such a great post in light of the Christmas season coming up, and everywhere we look, it's commercial; buy this, buy that, this is on sale, and it's all about the buying.

For me, Christmas is a time to reflect on Jesus' unspeakable sacrifice; He left the most perfect place, He left the presence of God, and consented to being born humble and lowly; I think about how the angels must have felt, watching Him go, how it must have grieved them.

A baby was born so that I wouldn't have to die.

So when we're running about doing Christmas errands, let's stop for a minute and sing to ourselves the little chorus, "we're sorry Lord for the thing we've made it -- it's all about You, it's all about You Jesus."

Hi Jen, its always good to see you.
It's great that out of everything we can desire, that you desire Jesus desperately.

Good to see you again Longsuffering.I am so glad that the blog uplifted you.

Yes Sunny, that is a very timely reminder that Christmas, amidst all the commercialism, is all about Jesus.
