THIRSTING FOR GOD.

Our friend and Pastor, Dave went to the Hillsong conference last week. He had an amazing time there. Through some speakers God gave him some things for our church and through other speakers God spoke to Dave personally.

Hearing about his trip made me yearn for another "touch "from God. Not that I am feeling far from God. I just wanted some intimate moment of hearing from Him that touched my spirit and refreshed me. I rang a friend and asked her to pray with me for that.

On Monday, waiting for a doctor's appointment I read from my bible Psalm 27. It is a great Psalm but what caught my attention was verse 4-

"One thing I ask of the LORD,
this is what I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek Him in His temple."

"That's what I want it " I thought. I want to gaze upon the LORD . I want to catch a new glimpse of Him.

Now that can't be manufactured but God does say in 1 Chor.ch 28 v9 "If you seek Him He will be found by you." So I have been seeking Him and He came to me last night with a wonderful time of refreshing my spirit. I am just rejoicing in Him and thanking Him for that time of refreshing.

    Hi. I absolutely LOVE this psalm. It is definitely one of my favorites. Thank you for reminding me of it--especially right now when it is 2:20 AM and I cannot sleep. YIKES!

    So glad you got your prayer answered, Blue.
    I looked up Ps 27 in the NLT. I live verse 8 My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me."
    Nice thought, that.

    Gail! I am so glad you have become a tangeriner! And you have the prestigious honor of being the FIRST overseas rep!

    :D

    I have just finished packing for my trip. I leave tomorrow from home very early in the morning, and I am thankful to God that I am already sleepy. I was hoping not to have another night like last night.

    Take care while I am gone...

    His,
    Jennifer

    Gail...me again. Can't sleep AGAIN...and I have to be up in about 4 hours to prepare to leave for my trip. I hate it when this happens.

    Seeing your post on psalms reminds me of one of my favorites--Psalm 63.

    1 O God, you are my God,
    earnestly I seek you;
    my soul thirsts for you,
    my body longs for you,
    in a dry and weary land
    where there is no water.
    2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.

    3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

    4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

    5 My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
    with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

    6 On my bed I remember you;
    I think of you through the watches of the night.

    7 Because you are my help,
    I sing in the shadow of your wings.

    8 My soul clings to you;
    your right hand upholds me.

    9 They who seek my life will be destroyed;
    they will go down to the depths of the earth.

    10 They will be given over to the sword and become food for jackals.

    11 But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God's name will praise him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

    Sorry...I was just going to copy and paste the first verse, but they are all so good.

    Hope it blesses you and your readers.

    His,
    Jennifer

    Thanks Psalmsgirl,Debra, Bunnygirl, Hoodie,Jennifer, Spookie and Angel for calling over and visiting. It's always good to see you.

    Angel, I think its a bit of "Taste and see that the Lord is good." Once you've tasted nothing else really satisfies that hunger.

    Hey Gail
    loved this post of yours; (hey did you see I had this same verse from ps27:4 on my blog a few days ago on the martha/mary post--following the same stream of the spirit, cool?) I'm so glad you felt a fresh touch from the Lord. It is so wonderful what an intimate God He is and how He longs to have fellowship with us. I'm so thankful that He can bring that wonderful refreshing touch to our spirits, minds, and souls. What a wonderful God :)
    hug and love to you Blue
    Kimmer :)
