EMPOWERED TO PRAY

Prayer is the gift of the Spirit. Often we wonder how to pray, when to pray and what to pray. We can become very concerned about methods and techniques of prayer. But finally it is not we who pray but the Spirit who prays in us.

Paul says:"The Spirit.... comes to help us in our weakness, for, when we do not know how to pray properly, then the Spirit personally makes our petitions for us in groans that cannot be put into words; and He who can see into all hearts knows what the Spirit means because the prayers that the Spirit makes for God's holy people are always in accordance with the mind of God" ( Romans 8:26-27 ).

These words explain why the Spirit is called the Consoller.

    hey gail

neat to see some "stuff" in your blog... and such GOOD stuff too. i love spiritual writers... i am reading a book called 100 days in the secret place, by gene edwards which is wonderful. is 100 exerts from 3 spiritual "leaders" from teh 17th century. i have leaders in " " cos they would not be recognised by the majority at that time... one was yes a catholic biship, so a leader, one was a monk who died in prison for his faith and one is madam jeanne guyron who is now famous for her insights and relationshp with the Lord. is wonderful book. very very challenging.

Claire the "Kneel Prayer Journey ' is in a room. There are about 10 places to go and pray and it takes the students about 60-90 minutes to do. Here is an example from last year.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts you double minded. Humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up.
    James 4:8,10.

If you, O Lord, Kept a record of sins, who could stand? But with You there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared.
    Psalm 130:3-4.

DECLARE THAT JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, AND YIELD YOUR HEART AND LIFE AGAIN TO HIM TODAY.

Therefore God exalted Him (Jesus )to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name , that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
    Philippians 2:9-11.

I am going to be there in Atlanta to talk with the students and to pray with them . It is going to be awesome!!!

sounds great. love how 24/7 prayer, and prayer in general has "taken off".

we had a guy preach a few weeks ago that said in the midst of some really significant times in history prayer movements have risen... talked about the benidictian monks, teresa the little rose and the like... they all rose up in critical times when it seemed the devil was highly at work...

prayer is such a key eh - not only to relatioship with God, a personal thing, but also in "your kingdom come, your will be done" type stuff eh.

Hi Gail. Thanks for stopping in at my blog. Yes, the world shrinks at the power of the net. God is so awesome to set this all up. I love NZ pictures and can't wait to see Narnia. BTW my cell phone rings to 'blessed be you name' song.

I do love flowers and not that I'm retired from my bridal shop I can do the work around the house, hence the new patio and plantings. I'll have to post the pic of my new mock orange shrub before it's done bloomin'.

    God bless.

Oops I thought you lived on NZ. I love Australia too.

Talk about music! I sing and play guitar with my hubby. Music is such a good vehicle for evangelism.
