EMPOWERED TO BE.

Who are we ? Are we what we do? Are we what others say about us? Are we the power we have? It often seems that way in our society. But the Spirit of Jesus given to us reveals our true spiritual identities. The Spirit reveals that we belong not to a world of success, fame or power but to God.The world enslaves us with fear;the Spirit frees us from that slavery and restores us to the true relationship. That is what Paul means when he says "All who are guided by the Spirit are sons ( and daughters ) of God, for what you received was not the spirit of slavery to bring you back to fear;you received the spirit of adoption, allowing you to cry out, " Abba, Father." ( Romans 8:15 )

Who are we? We are God's beloved sons and daughters!!!!

HENRI NOUWEN.

Enjoy living today with the knowledge that you are God's child and enjoy that intimacy with Him because the Spirit of Jesus indwells you.

I so needed to read this today (this morning) so timely. God gave me this verse in 1995 which hugely encouraged me.

I'm feeling a bit weary today.

    Hi Gail,

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I love having guests.

I see from your profile that you have great taste in music--namely Josh Groban! I had the pleasure of hearing him in concert in New Orleans about two years ago. It was...he was...phenomenal. And, I have a close friend who will from time to time sing me a Josh Groban song...even Mi Mancherai--which is my favorite. I also love his rendition of Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. I think I'd like to have that in my wedding when/if God gives me that chance.

Anyway, it was nice to look over your blog. I am sure I will be back for more later.

    His,
    Jennifer

Gail you are lovely. That was a most welcome posting that greeted me. I'm still tired. Actually think I'm pretty run down at the moment, mouth ulcer and super fatigued.

    AS I ENTER CAREFULLY,
    THE THRONEROOM OF MY KING
MY HEART IS POUNDING IN MY CHEST
    CAUSE HE SEES EVERYTHING.

    MY HEAD HANGS LOW AND
    MY FISTS CLENCHED TIGHT
I FEAR TO COME BEFORE MY LORD
WHO RULES WITH SO MUCH MIGHT

BURDEDNED WITH THE GUILT OF SIN
AND HEAVY LAIDEN WITH MY SHAME
I WISH THAT I COULD RUN A MILE
AND HIDE FROM ALL THIS PAIN

I FEEL LIKE I HAVE DISAPPOINTED
MY KING WHO REIGNS ON HIGH
AND AS I FALL DOWN ON MY KNEES
    I CANNOT HELP BUT CRY

    I START TO BEG FORGIVENESS
    BUT BEFORE I CAN BEGIN
HE HOLDS HIS HAND UP AND
    WITH THESE WORD HE SAYS:
“I FORGIVE YOU FOR YOUR SIN”

HE BECKONS ME CLOSER TO HIS THRONE
AND I CAN’T RESIST HIS CALL
I GET UP AND I RUN TO HIM
AND INTO HIS ARMS I FALL

THEN LOVINGLY HE LIFTS MY FACE
    TO GAZE UPON HIS GLORY
HE SAYS: “MY CHILD, I LOVE YOU SO,
    REGARDLES OF YOUR HISTORY”

HE HUGS ME TIGHTLY TO HIS CHEST
    AND GENTLY STROKES MY HAIR
MY PAIN AND SIN FORGOTTEN NOW
    AND I DON’T HAVE A CARE.

I KNOW MY FATHER LOVES ME
    I AM HIS LITTLE GIRL
THERE IS NOTHING HE WONT DO FOR ME
    IF I OBEY HIS WILL

I SIT WITH HIM NOW, EVERYDAY
    AND TELL HIM EVERYTHING
AND HE SITS AND LISTENS CAREFULLY,
    HE DOESN’T MISS A THING.

HE IS MY KING WHO REIGNS ON HIGH
WITH SO MUCH MIGHT AND POWER
BUT A FATHER TOO HE IS TO ME
AND ME? I AM HIS PRECIOUS DAUGHTER!!

(blush)You are welcome Gail - and yes, I did write it. I love writting poems - but they are always inspired by the Lord. I have tried other poems, but they just never sound right...
